Baby Envelope Card

My project today is a happy one. It is to celebrate the birth of a new baby girl, Chava. Chava’s Mom, Rivky, is one my best friends, even though I haven’t seen her in over a dozen years. We talk all the time and hearing her voice always makes me smile. Rivky is one of those people who thinks the world of everyone. It is a joy to hear her talk about any topic since she looks at life assuming the best of anyone she encounters. Love you, Rivky!

The project is inspired by Sarah Sagert, who used the envelope as part of the project. Love it! Sarah is one of the Artisan’s, picked from Stampin’ Up! from dozens of artists, as one of the best. She sure does amazing work.

To create the card, use the envelope punch board using the measurements for a 3 ½ x 4 ½ card (your paper will be 6 x ¾ and 6 x 3/4 ). The inside card (pink) measures 3 ½ x 4 ½ and the white measures 3 ¼ x 4 ¼). The bear image is from a retired set that I’ve held on to. I watercolored it using the aqua painter and the new in-color, Tip Top Taupe.  I made a custom envelope since the finished card doesn’t fit in a standard envelope.

Here is the inside.  I forgot to take a picture before I wrote my note, so you get to see what I said 🙂  For those of you who don’t read hebrew, the hebrew words translate to Mazel Tov.  “Nachas” is the joy you get from your child.  It is a yiddish word with no English translation.  It is a combination of happiness and pride.
