A friend of mine challenged me to create a card using only two layers.  It was hard!  I sure love my layers.  I’m happy with how the card turned out.  But in the future, I think I’ll keep using more than two layers 🙂

Glitter on Wood!

Oh my I did something fun when creating this card.  Glitter.  On Wood!!  I LOVE it.  In person, the glittered snowflake looks even more spectacular.  The word “Joyful” is embossed in gold, too, so there is some serious sparkle going on.

Below is a close up of the glittered snowflake.  I first put two-way glue on the snowflake and then dipped it in glitter. I attached it to the card using tombow glue.

The card design is actually pretty easy.  If you need to make a whole bunch of cards, the design could be duplicated very quickly.  Below are the supplies used:

Stampin’ up a Storm

What have you been up to this weekend?  I have been stampin’ like a crazy gal.  It has put a great big smile on my face – which I needed, because my bookclub book was so sad this month.  Ugh!!  But stamping always cheers me up.

For my project today, I am sharing a holiday card that I made for my sweet friend, Kimberly.

I had so much fun making it — not only because it was a break from my downer book, but because I used a card sketch!  The sketch is PCCCS174 (click here for details on the Paper Craft Crew).  Here was what the sketch looks like:

Tip: I flipped the sketch upside down.  Feel free to change up sketches to make them work for YOUR card.  Also, to give the bird color depth, I stamped him first in Crumb Cake and then Soft Suede.

Last Project Life Cards and Oops!

Ohmygoodness.  I sure hope you all haven’t made the same mistake I did.  I’ve been working so hard on making cards, I forgot to actually send them out.  *Blush*  I did send a few for Chanukah, but not nearly as many as I usually do.  I haven’t yet sent any cards to my friends who celebrate Christmas.  I am fixing this mistake TODAY!  Can you just see it — my stamp room full of holiday cards, none of which actually went out?  Luckily, there is still time to get them in the mail!

If you haven’t sent your cards out, let this be your reminder.  I can’t begin to tell you how much our cards are appreciated.  Often, I don’t find out till (litterally) years later when people tell me that my cards are cherished.  If you send yours out and don’t hear back, do NOT assume that your cards aren’t appreciated.  I’ve learned that not everyone takes the time to say something, but trust me, in our techie world, anything hand made is loved and cherished.
Here is my final card of the series.  Of course, I saved the best for last.  I adore this little ornament. This was the second easiest card of the series (after the tree card). I cut out the ornament and using dimensionals, adhered it to another Project Life piece.  I then added a few silver stars and ta da, done!

You would never guess it!

Have you ever had a day where you could barely move?  Where even the simplest things seemed like too much?  That’s totally me today.  I feel like I’m moving through water.  I must need a few extra ZZZzzz’s, don’t you think?  To say I’m thrilled that I could “cheat” with my card for you is no exaggeration.  This card is also made from Project Life. I just cut a few things out, added a snowflake, doily, and ribbon, and bam, done!  Perfect for a lazy day  🙂

Tip: I like to use tombow (liquid glue) to put on my snowflakes.  I’ve had them crack using glue dots when I try to position them.

Also, even though the bow looks as though it is threaded through the snowflake, it isn’t.  I told you I was having a lazy day!  I tied it separately and then glued it to the snowflake 🙂  Much easier!

My daughter wanted to help me photograph it.

Easiest Project Life Card Ever

Good morning, friends.

The card below is seriously the easiest of all the Project Life Cards I’ve made. I just added some gold glitter, a little ribbon, and done!  It doesn’t get much easier than that.  The cool part is that it looks so elegant — I’d be proud to send this card out.

Holiday Gift Bag Holder – with Video

I am so excited to share my latest project with you.  I designed a gift card holder that’s easy to make — and flat!  It can even be used as an ornament.  I made it flat so you can fit it in a card if you want to mail it (though you may need to make your banners a little shorter.  I get carried away :))

Dreidel Card!

Do you know what a Dreidel is?  It’s a toy that is used on Chanukah by kids and adults alike!  It is a fun game and I wanted to make a card showing this toy.  Of course, I couldn’t find a Dreidel stamp.  So I did punch art instead!

I used a square punch (you can use any size) and punched out two squares from the same paper.  I then lined up the second piece, adhered it and cut it down the sides. Because it would be impossible to explain in words, I made a graphic for you!

To finish it off, I made a little handle out of glimmer paper (what else?) and ta da, the dreidel was done!  I did stamp some hebrew letters on it — using a stamp set that belongs to my kids (shhhh).

Paper Menorah

So you’ll laugh at this one.  I was inspired for this card by a beautiful Christmas tree card made by my friend, Kimberly Van Diepen.  Christmas tree . . . Menorah, it’s all good.  It has a beautiful effect in person.  The gently folded paper that makes up the card has a vintage, airy feel.  It is a fun card and I hope you enjoy it.

To make this card, I cut a piece of Typset DSP 2 x 12.  I then put tombow liquid adhesive down the length of the 12″ inch strip and adhered it together along the long edge.  I didn’t put a crisp fold in the paper because I wanted to by airy.  It’s hard to see in the picture, but the papers have a rounded fold.  I then measured 1/4 inch lightly in pencil down the whole 12″ length and cut out the little strips of paper.  I put a some adhesive down the center of the Very Vanilla cream card stock and then built the menorah.  The Menorah was actually going to face the other way, but my 5 year old daughter told me to flip it and I liked it so much better.  So I went with it and kept going 🙂

Chanukah Card

I got creative and used the Sprinkles of Life (click here) stamp set to make a chanukah card.  I used the candle and some gold glimmer paper and ta da, it’s a menorah!

For the candles, I used pretty much every color in the Stampin’ Up! “Brights” color collection.  Gotta have some bright and cheerful candles, no?
